Tilburg Artist Sigrid Calon is known for her graphic style, in which she plays with abstract shapes in various techniques, including risograph prints and textiles. Her work was featured in a solo exhibition in De Pont museum and has been acquired by museums including MoMA, the V&A, Stedelijk museum and Boijmans van Beuningen. Calon’s signature style is also evident in the statement pieces she designed for our label by TextielMuseum.
Two product series reflect her fascination for weaving and knitting. The tea towels pay tribute to weaving, displaying a rich palette of weaves, textures and colours. Meanwhile, the pattern on the plaids is an enlarged knitted structure, offering a microscopic view of the technique.
